Everton will take a one-goal lead to the Etihad in their Capital One Cup semi-final after an impressive 2-1 win over the Premier League giants.
The Blues took the lead through Ramiro Funes Mori, Ross Barkley’s saved effort was pounced upon by the Argentinian who finished under keeper Willy Caballero.
City got a goal back in the second half through Jesus Navas after they broke from an Everton corner, the ball played into the Spaniard on the left side of the box and he finished confidently past Joel Robles.
Romelu Lukaku then put Everton back in front with a header from 6 yards out, after a brilliant cross from Gareth Barry.
The second leg is due to be played Wednesday 27th January.
