Tom Cleverley popped up with a late Christmas present as he scored a last-minute winner to send Evertonians into euphoria.
It was Everton’s first win in five league games and is seen by many as a possible turning point in a season heading aimlessly towards mediocrity.
The Blues dominated large parts of the game, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Ramiro Funes Mori all missed chances, while Tim Howard had to be at his reactive best to deny Ayoze Perez in the second half.
