Reading are currently sitting in a play-off spot after a mixed start to their season. Their record currently stands at, 8 games played, 3 games won, 3 games drawn and 2 games lost. Scoring 12 goals and conceding a respectable 6 in the process. They will surely hope to be sitting in and around these positions as they aim to return to the Premier League, but what players will look to trouble Everton on Tuesday?
Nick Blackman
Nick Blackman is currently Reading’s top goalscorer with a total of 6. The 25 year old stands at 6’2. He may try to bully Everton’s defensive line with his physicality. Don’t be fooled by his size, Blackman has a tendency to drift into the wide areas and try his luck cutting in on his preferred left foot.

Stephen Quinn
Stephen Quinn signed for Reading in the summer from relegated Premier League side Hull City. He arrived with plenty of experience having enjoyed 12 outings on international level with the Republic of Ireland and 85 games for his previous club. The midfielder is not known for his goalscoring prowess although he will cause Everton problems with his versatility with the ability to play right across the midfield. Quinn is good at keeping the ball and doesn’t mind putting a shift in the defensive side of the things. He also knows how to break the game up by buying himself cheap fouls.

Jordan Obita
Jordan Obita is a left-back who likes to bomb up and down the flanks and causing problems with his pace. He can also play left-wing. With Everton currently having problems in the right-back position he may end up being a thorn in their side. Jordan may also trouble the Blues with his crossing ability from set pieces.

Oliver Norwood
Oliver Norwood is a central-midfielder who has international experience with a total of 27 caps for Northern Ireland. The Reading man has many characteristics which include passing ability, strong talking and long distance attempts at goal. Everton’s keeper on the night may have to keep his wits about him.

Lucas Piazon
Lucas Piazon is a creative attacking midfielder who is currently on loan from Chelsea (Who isn’t?). He can also be played on either wings. Playing time hasn’t been easy to come by for the young Brazilian so maybe it is the right time for Steve Clark to see what the youngster can do. In the 24 minutes he’s been on the pitch he has already grabbed himself 1 assist. He’s neat and tidy with good passing ability. He also has great agility.

Everton will hope they can get through to the next round of the Capital One Cup without Reading causing an upset. They may have to be on top form to ensure they don’t leave the Madejski stadium red faced.
