Everton boss Roberto Martinez has praised Ramiro Funes Mori’s debut performance against Chelsea.
The £9.5 million summer signing filled in admirably at centre-back after replacing the injured Seamus Coleman, and impressed the Goodison faithful with his composure on the ball, commanding aerial presence and seemingly unflappable character.

And Martinez, who had previously admitted that the Argentine international defender may need time to adapt to the English game, was impressed with what he saw from the former River Plate man.
“It was really important to see Ramiro have a good introduction,” Martinez said in an interview with Everton TV.
“It is not easy coming into the British game and he looked at home with the pace and intensity.
“We are starting to show the strength of the squad because, with the numbers we have now, players are able to come in and perform as a part of the team and that helps you to be consistent over the course of the season.”
With the full extent of Seamus Coleman’s injury as of yet unknown, Funes Mori could well be in line to make his full Everton debut in Saturday’s clash against Swansea City.
